TEXO SIGNS 3-YEAR MAIN SPONSOR DEAL WITH BLYTH SPARTANS

Company continues support of local communities and grass-roots sport

TEXO, one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary industrial services provider, has announced a 3-year sponsorship deal with Blyth Spartans A.F.C. The company will be the main club sponsor, continuing its commitment to supporting local communities.

TEXO operates a growing facility at Port of Blyth, offering increased employment opportunities in the area and is keen for the business to be at the heart of its communities.

“Blyth Spartans truly are the heart of the community here in Northumberland,” says Alan Conway, Divisional Director at TEXO Port Services. “The club has a fantastic history and a great supporter base and we are delighted to be supporting not just the local club, but grass roots football, as Blyth Spartans also has a thriving junior section for boys and girls. We’re really looking forward to being part of the club’s growth and success from next season.”

Blyth Spartans was founded in 1899 and has a fantastic history, including fielding women’s teams during World War One and has a great history in the FA Cup, playing in the competition more than 50 times.

Tony Platten, Chairman Blyth Spartans, commented, “This is an exciting and significant sponsorship deal with TEXO. We are greatly appreciative to the fact that Chris and Alan not only agreed to a 3-year-deal but suggested it in the first place. This shows TEXO’s commitment, not just to Blyth Spartans, but to the community as a whole. As with all football clubs, we rely on a number of revenue sources, and this level of sponsorship is so important to the running of the Club. As Main Club Sponsors, we look forward to working with TEXO, and seeing their name emblazoned on the famous Green and White shirt, and of course providing a big warm Spartans welcome on match days.”

Blyth Spartans joins a growing list of sports and community groups that are part of the TEXO family. The company already sponsors two talented boxers – Dean Sutherland and Tommy Hodgson – and supports the Archie Foundation, a charity that supports children and their families when they face difficult health situations.

“Part of our mission at TEXO is to support our local communities,” says Chris Smith, the Group’s Managing Director. “It’s important to us to work with a variety of community, charity and sports groups, because being in business is about supporting others and growing a positive local community around you. Sponsoring Blyth Spartans is an important part of that commitment and I’m looking forward to watching them play next season.”
