Wireless and Non-Destructive (WAND) system, consists of two parts – a compact, battery-free sensor and a handheld probe. The sensor is entirely passive and can be permanently installed onto a structure.
The lightweight probe powers up the sensor by non-contact inductive coupling when it is brought nearby (even if the patch is under material). The sensor then sends out an ultrasonic wave into the structure and detects the received signal.
This is then transmitted back wirelessly to the probe where the signal is analysed. For our internal corrosion system, the analysed signal provides structural thickness.
Integrated SLAMWorld’s first UAS integrated tunable microwave payload technology. NON-CONTACT frequency modulated inspection for coatings analysis and monitoring. An NDT technique requiring no removal of the outer layers.
Texo Drone Survey & Inspection (UKCS) Ltd, the dedicated offshore services arm of Texo DSI Ltd are extremely pleased to announce the commencement of field trials of its new UAS integrated ACFM (Alternating Current Field Measurement) inspection and weld fatigue detection system.
The new system will be able to undertake full flaw and fatigue detection on multiple surfaces and welds, minimising risk of exposure to rope access personnel whilst increasing inspection efficiency.
Texo Group Chief Operations Officer, John Wood said: “These are exciting times. We pride ourselves on bringing innovative UAS integrated systems to our clients. Our existing infrastructure and extensive industry-leading R&D budget has allowed us to develop such advanced technologies and we are delighted to be at the field trial stage of such an advanced application.”
